Addo Elephant park

I always wanted to visit the Addo Elephant Park and recently made the time to visit this park.  It is less than a four hour drive away from George but since we left George after work we spent the night at Jeffreys Bay.  This accommodation was a bit disappointing.  I did not realise we have to share the house with strangers.  Imagine my surprise when entering the house and there are 2 men watching TV in the living area.  They also locked the door when I went for a walk on the beach, almost locking me out.  The TV in the bedroom did not work.  I was told the power tripped, hence no reception.

We continued our trip along the Gamtoos river the next day with a quick stop at the Thornhill station.

Lovely little building

The accommodation at Addo was much better.  We stayed at the Matyholweni camp near Colchester.  Addo is really well worth a visit.  Even with decent rain the game viewing is fantastic with a surprise around every corner.
Colchester also have a lovely little restaurant with prices suitable for a purse with rands.
