Goukamma Nature reserve hike, Buffalo Bay

It is lovely to hike along the fynbos covered dunes and ocean.  There are quite a few steep climbs but the view of Groenvlei is a generous reward.

Oudtshoorn to De Rust in pictures

The Karoo veld is absolutely stunning this year.  We took a short trip there a few weeks ago.  We started with a scrumptious breakfast as Smitswinkel.  It is a buffet where you choose what you want with prices starting at R5 an item!

We then continued along road to De Rust.

We also took the Volmoed road where the Schoemans opened their farm for visitors to view their clivias..for free!  True Karoo hospitality!
